Prompts: Series: This book is book one of the "My Weird School" series. Plot Summary: AJ is starting his first day of second grade. His teacher is Miss Daisy. AJ tells her that he hates school. To the surprise of the whole class Miss Daisy says she hates school too. Even stranger the students come to find out that Miss Daisy can't read or do arithmetic either. Later the students decide they want to buy the school and turn it into an arcade. Miss Daisy thinks that is a great idea and invites the principal to come hear their idea. Principal Klutz says that if they can read one million pages they can rent the school for one night. The kids get busy reading and with help from other classes are able to rent the school. While in class Miss Daisy says she is glad she became a teacher because she is learning so much from the class. Plot Structure: This book has a climatic plot structure. The book goes chapter by chapter and information from each chapter is important information for the problem and solution of the book. For example in the first chapter you learn Miss Daisy doesn't know a lot of things she has to teacher which explains why the class is teaching her in the later chapters. Also in chapter four the kids decide to buy the school which explains why they have a meeting with the principal and why they read one million pages. Strong vocabulary: The vocabulary in this book is not too difficult but students may have a hard time with the definitions with some of the words because they are not in their vocabulary for example arithmetic, dungeon, mature, marveled, impostor, ransom, announced, beeline, circumference, diameter, veterinarian, and vegetarian. | Character list and descriptions:
