Junie B. Jones is about to start her first day of kindergarten, but first she gets to go the school to meet her teacher "Mrs.". Junie B was very excited about starting kindergarten until she found out she was going to have to ride "the stupid smelly bus". Junie B was very nervous to ride the bus and when her mom put her on the bus to go to her first day of school she was very mad. She didn't have any friends and had to sit next to a mean boy named Jim. Then when they got off the bus she got her knocked over and her skirt stamped on by that mean boy Jim. Inside the class Junie B. meets a girl named Lucille. Lucille and Junie B. become friends. It is now time for Junie B. to ride the bus home but she heard kids dump chocolate milk on your head, so she decides to hide in the classroom. After Junie B. decides its safe to come out she wanders all over the school. She goes to the media center, runs up and down the halls, and goes to the nurses office. Eventually she has to go to the bathroom, but the door is locked. Afraid she is going to have an emergency, Junie B. does what mother said to do incase of an emergency which is call 911. So after calling 911 the police, principal, Mrs., and mother arrive. Mother explains to Junie B. that what she did was wrong and that ridding the bus won't be that bad. She even says a girl in her class Grace will be ridding the bus tomorrow and wants to sit with Junie B. Suddenly ridding the bus isn't so bad or scary anymore.
